Emergency surgical hemorrhoid removal of thrombosed hemorrhoids can be carried out in the emergency room or in the office of your physician. This type of emergency surgery can be used to treat acute onset of pain and thrombosis of external piles within 48-72 hours of onset.

This treatment offers an opportunity for fast hemorrhoid relief of the severe pain and swelling, however this form of treatment will not be suitable for some people for following reasons:

1-If there is a degree of doubt that the diagnosis of the anal lump might not be a thrombosed external pile. One major distinguishing feature of a thrombosed hemorrhoid lump is that it is very painful, while most other forms of anal lumps are not painful.

2-Emergency thrombosed hemorrhoid surgery is also not suitable to treat thrombosed piles that co-exist with severely prolapsed internal piles.

3-This form of treatment is also not suitable for use in people with severe blood clotting disorders {people that bleed easily and uncontrollably}.

4-If you have a low blood level this form of surgery might not be suitable for you.

5-If you have a known history of allergy to local anesthetic agents like lignocaine, you might not be able to pass through this surgery.

6-Presence of peri-anal infection might lead to further lead to further general septicemia if this surgery is attempted.

7-If there is co-existing anal fissure, this surgery will worsen the pain and make the pain unbearable.

8-If you have a history of co-existing inflammatory bowel disease like Chrons disease, this surgery is not advised as a means of treatment.

9-Someone suffering from portal hypertension should also preferably not undergo this surgery.

10-If you are suffering from any serious general illness that can markedly increase the risk of this procedure, it is better that you opt for other means of treatment.

So how can you get rid of thrombosed hemorrhoids without surgery?
